HUGHES PULLS OUT OF U.S. NATIONALS IN CLEVELAND
A cortisone injection is not enough to enable Hughes to compete at Nationals this week. Her ankle just isn't strong enough to compete, due to an injury. It has been a rough season for Hughes who had been training hard for nationals, and it is extremely disappointing for her to have to miss a second nationals in a row. She will resume training as soon as she is able, and we look forward to seeing her compete healthy in the future.

Trophée Eric Bompard, Paris, France, 2008
Emily had an tough start to the season with a 9th place finish at Trophée Eric Bompard in Paris in November. She finished 8th in the short program, 9th in the free skate and 9th overall. Her total score was 115.48. It was difficult to come back from an injury, but she will continue to train hard for the future competitions.
