Hughes is participating in the Marshalls U.S. Figure Skating Showcase at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania on April 6 at 7:30 p.m. She joins the group as part of the 2007 U.S. World Team. Also performing are Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen and the World Jr. medalists. Each will perform an exhibition skate. Marshalls Showcase will be broadcast on ABC Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. EST.

Emily started the competition very well with a personal best score in the short program, skated to "Carmen". It was a clean skate with a good triple flip-double toe combination, triple lutz and double axel. She placed 6th, with a score of 60.88.

Problems occurred in the free skate though. It was a good performance skated to "Sylvia" that got stronger as it went along with only one fall. She fought for everything. The trouble appeared to be that the judges downgraded some of her jumps to doubles, which cost her dearly. She was 13th in the free skate and 9th overall.
