Skate America took place at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Emily was in 4th place after the short program Saturday, with a total segment score of 47.66. Her technical element score was 22.70 and program component score was 24.96.

In the free skate Emily substituted a triple Salchow for her double Axel to compensate for the popped Lutz in her planned combination. It was obvious that her artistry was up a notch from last season.

She placed 5th in the free skate with 92.84 points, 43.64 technical and 49.20 components. Her final placement was 4th with a total score of 140.50.

Hughes has two ISU Grand Prix assignments for the 2007-2008 season. She will be skating at Skate America in Reading, Pennsylvania (short - Sat., Oct. 27, free skate - Sun., Oct. 28) and Skate Canada in Quebec City (short - Fri., Nov. 2, free skate - Sat., Nov. 3).
